Multiparametric approach to integral assessmentof athlete's performance

Abstract

The problem of integrated assessment of performance in sports does not have a single solution. The approaches currently being implemented can be conditionally reduced to several areas: monoparametric, multiparametric, qualitative, combined. Within the framework of the monoparametric approach, the main quantitatively measured indicator (speed, strength, length, duration, result points) is identified, the dynamics of which is assessed, while the remaining components of the functional state are ignored. Within the framework of the qualitative approach, expert assessment of the athlete's level of readiness for competitions is carried out by coaches and individual specialists, taking into account the results obtained during the training process. The combined approach involves the use of individual elements from different assessment areas, but obtaining correctly interpreted dynamic indicators is difficult. The multiparametric approach is of the greatest interest due to its objectivity and information content, the ability to assess the condition and performance of athletes in dynamics and in comparison with each other. Within the framework of the multiparametric approach, the most significant components that determine the sports result are identified (genetic predisposition, health status, motivation level, emotional state, general and special endurance, level of training, readiness for competitions), their expression is converted into dimensionless standardized points (stens) that have a normal statistical distribution and allow solving problems of population assessments of results, then, in relation to a specific sport, the contribution of specific components to the final result is determined, and an integral assessment is obtained in accordance with the obtained decision rules. It is important to standardize the indicators for a reference group of athletes showing maximum sports results, for example, for a group of participants in national and international competitions. The multiparametric approach can also be used in sports that do not have directly measurable performance indicators (sports games, martial arts, complex coordinated sports), which is its important advantage.
